Installation Tips

Cutting carbide tipped blades are recommended. The same tips and techniques used for wood are perfect for Royal Trim BoardTM

Routing we recommend carbide tipped router bits. Note that when using this method there is a loss of strength so the material may not be used for structural/load bearing applications.

Drilling can be drilled in the same fashion as hardwoods using high speed bits. Drill holes may require the removal of shavings periodically.

Fastening use stainless steel or galvanized screws or nails as well as pneumatic fasteners. Apply fasteners approximately 1" - 2" from the end of the board with support structure (joists) spacing no more than 16" centre to centre.

Gluing for best results use PVC cement. Bond ∧ Fill by Advanced Trimworks Inc may be used. It's highly recommended to splice (scarf) and/or miter joints.

Painting can be done with 100% acrylic latex paint. Dark colours should be avoided where the material will be exposed to direct sunlight.

Calking use a paintable high quality acrylic latex caulk is recommended.

Storage Royal Trim BoardTM should always be stored in a flat level position.
